Dear Greenwood Families and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2026–27 school year! I hope you and your family have had a fun and relaxing summer. We are excited to welcome our students back and begin another year of learning, growth, and success at Greenwood Elementary.
At Greenwood, we believe that schools are strongest when families, staff, and community members work together. Thank you for the many ways you support our students. Whether you help with homework, attend school events, volunteer, or encourage your child each day, your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can help every student feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
One of our goals this year is to strengthen communication between home and school. We want families to feel connected to what is happening at Greenwood and informed about their child's learning. This year, we will continue sharing monthly grade-level updates, hosting family events, and using ParentSquare as our main communication tool. We hope these efforts make it easier for families to stay involved and connected.
We are also focused on helping students grow in math. Through regular check-ins on student progress, conversations with students about their learning goals, and collaboration among our staff, we will work together to increase the number of students performing at or above grade level in math by June 2027.
Another important goal is creating a positive school environment where every student feels welcomed, respected, and valued. This year, our staff will continue learning and using strategies that help students solve problems, build strong relationships, and make positive choices. By working together, we hope to reduce behavior incidents and create an even stronger school community.
We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, friendship, growth, and celebration.
Thank you for being an important part of the Greenwood community. I am excited to partner with you this year and look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
If you have questions, concerns, ideas, or would like to learn more about our school, please don't hesitate to reach out. My door is always open.
Warmly,
Dr. Madeline Koenig
