Expect that buses will be on their same routes, but two hours later. Please check our district website, Facebook page as well as news and radio media for updated information. Please know, if you don’t feel it is safe for your child to get on the bus or drive to school, you have every right to keep them home. There will be no negative consequences for your child. You may call the school and your child will receive an excused absence.

Thank you to all of our road crews! Your work does not go unnoticed. Thank you for all of the extra time your crews have been putting in to make our area safe to travel.
City of Island City Public Works, City of La Grande Public Works, Union County Road Department and Oregon Department of Transportation-thank you!!

Due to current road conditions, snow drifts on side roads and county roads as well as impending high winds,
La Grande Schools will be CLOSED on Wednesday 1/17/24

No basketball practice today at Greenwood.

Greenwood Boilers Not Operational -
This morning near 7:30 AM- the main boiler at Greenwood stopped working due to a fan motor not operating. The other boiler is missing a part that needs to be replaced. That repair is underway as well.
Due to the lack of the majority of the building, not receiving heat parents may come and pick up their children as classroom temperatures will be in the 50’s.
We will utilize space heaters in our classrooms for the remainder of the day. We expect the boilers to be working eat 12:00 or later in the afternoon.
We understand the impact of this important issue and apologize that we could not communicate sooner.
