November Happenings

Greenwood Elementary is gearing up for a busy November!

On November 4th, the school will have Attendance Bingo during the school day. This event is open to all students who have one absence or less or two tardies or less during the past month. An attendance celebration will happen each month and this is the first one of the year. “We really want to recognize our students and families working hard to achieve good attendance this school year,” said Jennifer Melendez, Greenwood Principal. She said the school’s goal for attendance this year is 93% and it’s been about 90% so far this year.

The school’s regular Giant Virtues assemblies will happen on November 2nd and 16th. The first assembly will focus on the character trait/virtue of Self-Discipline, which is “to have patience and set limits, control thoughts and actions.” The second assembly will highlight Perseverance, which is “to give your best effort, work hard and be diligent.” At the assemblies, the traits are discussed, and students who have been recognized as displaying the traits are celebrated.

Melendez encouraged parents to mark their calendars for the Winter Concerts, which will be during the school day on Wednesday, December 7th.
