Greenwood families,
Welcome back to school! My name is Jen Melendez and I am so happy to be joining the Greenwood family as the new Principal. We are looking forward to a great start to the school year and many fun times to come. This year we are focusing on making school enjoyable for our students and families. We want students to learn all they can and have a great time doing it. We are busy planning and getting excited for some family events throughout the year as well.
Consistent, in-person schooling provides so many opportunities for students to learn, grow and develop. We are asking for your help with your student's attendance this year. School matters and that consistency matters in their education. Please support your child by prioritizing school attendance. You will see kids that are learning at a high level and finding joy in their school experience. Their behavior, emotional regulation, self confidence and desire to learn will increase. They will experience success and you will see the growth at home as well.
We are looking forward to continuing many of our school traditions as well as family events. We want to bring fun back to Greenwood Elementary. When students are having fun and they are highly engaged, learning increases. That is our goal.
