Crystal Wilson
Kindergarten Teacher, Greenwood Elementary
Crystal is from a small town on the west side of the state, and she has lived in La Grande for five years. Education seems to be in her blood – her mother is a retired sixth grade teacher, her grandfather was a principal and her grandmother was a school secretary.
She started college at Western Oregon University, then transferred to EOU for her undergraduate degree. She is working on her master’s degree and taught Special Education in the Imbler School District.
Crystal said kindergarten is her dream job and she was a student teacher at Greenwood, so she jumped at the chance to teach there. From her first jobs as a babysitter and nanny, she has a strong passion for children.
Her goal this year is to embrace the time school staff have with students at school. “I want to make memories and not look back on the year with regret that I didn't have more fun and show my students how awesome school can be. It is easy to forget how lucky we are to be here.”
Crystal enjoys rodeos, concerts, cattle shows, boating, paddle boarding, tubing, corn hole, BBQs, friends and family gatherings.
