Greenwood Families,
As you probably know, we are preparing for the return of all Greenwood students for in-person instruction next Monday, January 11th.
With case counts dropping and with new updates coming to the state metrics, we are hopeful that we will be able to operate in-person for the foreseeable future. We hope that this will provide some consistency and normalcy for students and families and we look forward to the weeks ahead. We know that this has been a hard year for many and that students need social interaction. We will continue to use multiple layers of safety precautions, including PPE, physical distancing to the extent possible, and limiting the number of people that each child comes in contact with. You can expect to see more updates and emails in the days ahead, but for now I want to go over a few things that are important for all families to know before Jan 11th:
Safety First
Now that we are back in person, it’s more important than ever to practice our Key Safety Measures. The three big ones are 1) Wearing a Mask, 2) Physical Distancing, and 3) Hand Washing. Let’s be good citizens, protect those that are vulnerable, and help keep our schools operational. All students must wear masks. Face shields are no longer allowed unless there is a documented medical reason or it is part of an IEP or 504. Also, please keep your student home if they are ill. Students with symptoms will be sent home per state requirements. Here’s what we are doing around the school to keep students and staff safe - Greenwood School-Wide Safety Expectations
Daily Schedule Overview
Our schedule will be from 8am to 1pm Monday through Friday. Doors will open at 7:50. We will serve breakfast and lunch at no charge. These meals will be served in the classroom. Students should be dropped off at the entrance nearest their classroom. Late students (after 8:05) will need to check in at the front office. 4th and 5th graders will enter at the SE doors across from the field. Student dismissal will be on the field at 1:00 pm. Parents picking up students should enter the field through the exits on the NE (baseball diamond), SE, and SW (basketball court) corner, not near the crosswalk to the school. Parents are also required to wear a mask and physical distance when coming to the school.
Transportation
We encourage all families to transport their children if possible. If you have bussing needs, however, please call the main office or Mid Columbia Bus Co.
Technology and Supplies
All students returning to in-person learning should bring their supply tub, chromebook, charger, and any other school equipment when they return to school on Jan 11th.
