Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

We want to whole-heartedly welcome you to the new year! Tomorrow we will all start an adventure - hopefully this week's staggered start has helped you to feel more comfortable with the technology and schedule so that you can be the best learner possible during CDL. I plan to pop into your zoom meetings tomorrow and say hi!

One of our most important Giant Virtues is Responsibility. May I please share a few ideas that will help us all practice Responsibility and be at our best in this new format?

Attendance and Participation

Even though school is online - it's important to be ready to go each day at 8:00. If you cannot make it to our live instruction, please find time in the afternoon or evening to watch the lessons your teacher has posted and do the assignments to the best of your ability. For those that need help in the afternoon and on Wednesdays, we will have staff available to help.

Online Etiquette

Please practice joining your online meetings as if you were stepping into a school. That means you'll want to eat breakfast first, dress for success, and be ready to learn. Mute your microphone when you're not speaking, put away pets, and follow any other guidelines that your teacher provides to help you and your classmates get the most out of learning time.

Routines for Success

Families will be more successful if they can dedicate time and space to learning. Set up a "school work station" or make a "cardboard cubicle" so that students can focus. Have a plan for snacks, recess, and lunch. Make sure that physical activity, healthy eating, and a good bedtime routine are a part of your daily schedule. If you do those things, you will be more successful!

Other notes:

- Lunches will be available for pickup each day from 11:30-1:00 for all children 18 and under.

- Weekly supply pickup will be available each Wednesday in the gym from 9:00-3:00. If you need an extra box of pencils, a new glue stick, or an item your teacher set aside for you class, you can get them at this time.
