Weekly Update: October 15-19

Greenwood Parents and Families,

Another week is gone and we're heading into the last week of Quarter 1. That means that we are coming up on Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will be on November 1-2. Our goal is to meet with every family to discuss the progress of your child, and to find out how we can best support their growth. Another goal of these conferences is to talk about what reading looks like in the home, and to ensure that every child is supported by a Family Reading Plan. This could be informal or very specific, but we know that children have the best academic success when they are read with or read to for at least 20 minutes a day.

You will be receiving a note home today with information about your conference time. Please contact Eva in the main office if you need to reschedule.

Other Announcements:

  • Halloween - Our Halloween parade will be at 1:30 on Tuesday, October 30. There is no school on October 31.
  • Halloween Costumes need to be modest and appropriate. Send them in a bag so that students can change after lunch. Please avoid masks, fake weapons, and excessive gore, or other items that could scare young children. Remember, we have 5 year-olds in our school!
  • Supply Fee - If you have not paid your student's supply fee, please do so in the main office with Eva.

Thank you for all that you do to support us as a school.
